Can you see your band?

Recommended Posts

Now that I've lost weight I have a knot or hump protruding just under the center of my breast. Is this my band??? I have heard of people being able to see the port.....but the actual band? Could it be?

To be honest, I would be worried if it was your band if it's in your breast. I have lost 27lbs and I can feel the port very much in my belly but I am assuming that my band is under my abdomen and deep enough for that to not ever happen! Atleast I hope it is. I would definitely get it checked out. May be a cyst??

Good luck!

No, well fortunately for you no. If it is there is a problem, more than likely what you are feeling is the end of your sternum more commonly known as breast bone. The xyphoid as it is known in the medical community is a lump or protruding bone that is at the end of the stermum and it has no real purpose. It is used as a guide for placement during medical procedures. We never saw it or felt it before because it was well hidden.

Where on your body does your Dr. fill your Port ?

If that's the spot then your seeing your Port.

If that area is giving you pain or anything, then I would ask my Dr. if I were you.

But if thats were abouts your fills are at, then your seeing your port. Especially

when you lay flat on your back.

Shirley.

It's not my port - that is on my lower left abdomin. This knot is between my breasts but down a little lower. Like right in the center of my rib cage. It's in the exact spot where I feel restriction or get stuck, that's why I wondered if it was the band. It is hard like bone. Sternum? Breast plate? I'm afraid I never took an anatomy class. ;) Maybe it is something everyone has and I was just now introduced to mine after weight loss!?! It doesn't hurt, so I will probably ask at my next appointment. Just curious.

Thanks! I agree that's probably what it is. Whew. :D

It's probably your sternum or xyphoid process. There is no way you should be able to feel your band. Your stomach is somewhat under your ribs, so you shouldn't be able to feel it..
