I was banded in April of this year and so far I've only lost 13.5 pounds. I have done EVERYTHING I am supposed to do including exercise, Protein, and Water. My band is tight enough to cause restriction at Breakfast and lunch and sometimes at dinner. After a visit with the Dr. he just told me that it takes time and I'm doing just fine. They keep saying "Well you are losing weight and that's good" Yeah I lose weight when I'm on the liquid diet for 24-48 hours after each of my fills and then I stay at the same weight. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm so frustrated. I'm starting to wonder what the point of the band is if I'm having to work as hard as I had to before I had it, with the same result. I know the band is just a tool and you still have to work hard at it but honestly I just don't get what the point of it is now.

How frustrating. What kind of exercising are you doing? I have PCOS and so far I have lost 36lbs but it takes me exercising for 1-1.5 hours 4-5 days a week. Thirty minutes a day will probably not cut it. If I don't exercise, I don't loose weight. Also try cutting your calories to 700-900 cals a day. This is what Im doing and I am losing about 2lbs a week. Make sure you track your meals. Sometimes I have to back track because in my mind I thought I ate like 900 cals but it was really 1150 cals. Mistakes like that force me to write everything down when the scales are not moving like I want them to. Lastly, if your eating out, I recommend that you stop until the weighloss picks up. Make sure you do body measurements. This gives me an ego boost.Good Luck and I hope everything works out for you.

I'm in a similar boat, I'm week 6 and lost 12kg to date but have now plateaued... Not losing or gaining for last 2 wks.. I have PCOS also and I'm doing mostly cardio only exercise several times a week for more than an hour... I'm using my calorie pal to record my intake which is between 700-900 calories, most from Protein and low fat dairy a day and zero... Zip.. Nothing is moving.. Only had 1 fill so far... Ya think I need more? I know PCOS makes it even harder to shift and I had sever PCOS since I was 13 with over 6 surgery to date related to it.. Lapband was a last resort to control weight and PCOS but I honestly feel ya frustration!!!

i feel your pain. i was banded on may 20th of this year and am stuck between 17-20 pounds. AARRRGGGHH!!! my only conselation is that i've gone from wearing 20's to 16's moslty. so since my goal is a size not a weight that gives me some comfort. i dont understand how my clothing size is changed but the scale isnt. i've had 3 fills and i feel i have good restriction taking about 4-6 hours to be hungry, eating smaller portions and exercising twice a week with a trainer and twice on my own. have you taken your measurements or notice other NSV's?

Are you watching your fat and carbs? I swear by a high protien/low fat/low carb diet. I lost 107 pounds in about 10 months. That's great your excersising! Can you bump up the intensity and/or duration? Are you breaking a sweat? Are you doing it for at least 30 min 3X week? Hope these suggestions help- best wishes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
