When can we incorporate these two things back into our lives? :) Just curious. I know alcohol is in moderation, but when can I enjoy a glass of wine at night again?

I was told to wait at least six months before i consume any alcohol. And from what I understand you have to wait possibly at least two weeks after surgery before sex. I am exactly one week post op and my f/u appt is not until 8/31/2011 to ask my doctor about the sex thing. I plan to ask my doctor at my appt. Hang in there ;)

Sex - when you feel up to it. Alcohol - on your dr's advice.

I did both after two weeks! My Dr. told me moderation.. with the drinking and he said I could resume normal activity after two weeks, which included sex! :)

My doc had me wait to "get busy" until about 2-3 weeks post op. I waited to drink until I was back on solids for a couple weeks, so about 6-8 weeks post op.

Thanks for all of the feedback! I'll be sure and ask at my 2 week check up.

Surgery on Thursday, sex on Saturday (very careful sex). Wine about one week after.

My doctor also said 6 months on the alcohol and I didn't ask about the sex since I am a widow who doesn't date. :)

Remember which of the two has no calories, and is great excercise.LOL.My doc said sex when you are ready pain-wise and alcohol only in moderation only after complete healing-about 6 mos.I am totally over alcohol though so I could care less bout that.Be aware that all bandster-related texts that I have read state that alcohol hits you harder after surgery because it stays in our small pouch and gets you drunk quicker,Some folks recommend drnking at ho me the first time just until you find out what will happen to you/how you'll react.I think the last thing I would wanna do is drink for the first time in public and then possibly vomit unexpectedly.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
