Post Surgery-3 weeks-Finding it a challenge to wait for Fill

I had my first fill the first week of August. The first week was rough. Felt very sick and had a hard time eating/drinking. Lost 8 lbs the first week, no surprise as I was so sick. Now I am waiting for my first fill scheduled the first week of September. I followed the liquid diet for the first two weeks. Now I find I can eat just about anything. I thought the band would restrict me from eating regular foods. Do I have to wait for my first fill before I get the true benefits from the lapband surgery?
