I MISS MY BAND. . . .

Recommended Posts

I had an episode (caused by grits!!) and I had to get unfilled. OMG! I miss my fill! I can eat anything. I realize how much my brain can "make me" eat. September 12th is my re-fill date, because my docs vacation and my schedule. I MUST try to do this on my own for a few weeks. Please, God, let me not gain 20lbs 'till I get filled. . . . .trust me, you don't know how much you miss something 'till it's not there. The band is awesome and I will count the days until I get filled.

I just had a 1/4 cc removed yesterday. I had to do to sinus or something. I feel better, but I have to watch that I stay between 800-1200 calories a day. So I have to keep that up untill I go back in a month for a Tweaking.

So I recommend you do the same. It's a thought......

I agree with 54shirley....I was not filled til 2 months after the surgery. I wrote down all the calories and Protein and liquid I took in every day. It is so helpful to actually see in writing what you are taking in. I am still doing it, even though I now have 4cc and that is helping me somewhat. Also, I try to get in 80 grams of Protein a day. That REALLY helps to make me not feel hungry. I feel lots of protein per day is the second best thing to the lap band! Good luck to you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
