BaileyRose 13 Posted August 17, 2011 They say that's usually a sign that you're full and you should stop eating. 1 menis reacted to this
SageTracey 608 Posted August 17, 2011 Yes, I get it too (four months post op.) I find it happens when I eat too quickly and I am learning to SLOW DOWN (yelling at myself there ) 1 menis reacted to this
betheboo 40 Posted August 17, 2011 I also get it ... When I eat to fast or.get to hungry. Feels like someone stabbed a knife into my left shoulder
Grundig 0 Posted August 17, 2011 That shoulder pain could be gas related - if you are taking in a lot of air while eating it could be causing that sharp left shoulder pain. You should ask your doctor about it.
Rainydayz 3 Posted August 17, 2011 Hi. I found out this was vagus nerve pain. Look it up because I can't really explain it well. But it happens when I eat too fast or too much.
dropsizes 2 Posted August 20, 2011 I would like to know if anybody has had shoulder pain when eating, I get it almost every time I eat something and it's getting worse, Is this normal? Hello Menis, I get this pain when I eat to much or to fast. I spoke to my Dr. I was told that I was lucky as most people do not get to feel the pain that lets them know they are over eating or eating to fast. Sad to say but I LOVE this pain. To me this pain is my wake up call to SLOW DOWN. Use this pain as a tool that will make you slow down. I wish you well. Mary
isit5yet 37 Posted August 20, 2011 it's the result of either irritation post abdominal surgery, eating too fast or getting too full related to the Phrenic Nerve. The Phrenic Nerve passes on either side of the neck and down through the diaphragm. It's the nerve responsible for the hiccups we get also. I know that when I get that pain, I've eaten too much. It hurts so bad, I take note to try not to do that again!
