Hi everyone. I hope someone can help me. I was banded on 6/20/2011, and for the past month I have alot of nausea. Like almost every day I wake up nauseous and luckily I have nausea meds from my doc. It's just weird that it is every day. Does anyone else have this problem?

Also, for the ladies, does the surgery tend to make your TOM irregular. Now before surgery I was never completely regular, but usually went a two months with out it.I have had it twice, but they were only about a week and a half apart and have lasted a little longer than normal (however have been lighter). I'm sorry if it's TMI, but I don't have anyone else to ask. Please help!! Thank you in advanced for your responses!

But...that wouldn't explain my period. I can see where you would think that though lol.

I would call the doctor. Nausea every day doesn't seem right. Two girls on this forum, who thought they could not conceive, just found out they are pregnant!! Yikes!!:o

Being overweight can mess with our menstrual cycles so it's normal for them to change as we lose weight. Not sure about the nausea though.

I hate to pile on the pregnancy wagon but I personally know several women who have had irregular periods their entire lives to continue to get their period throughout each of their pregnancies. Also as stated being overweight does mess with our cycles as does weight loss. Two pieces of advice, call doctor asap to report the nausea & get a pregnancy test. Good luck & keep us posted!

I'd take a pregnancy test. Not to scare you but the EXACT same thing happened to me with my first son. Thought it was a period, but it was a weird one, come to find out dr suspected it was implantation bleeding (i believe thats what its called) where the egg attaches to the uterus after fertilization. I was only having slight nausea aka morning sickness in the early am and my weird period. I eventually had other symptoms too. Good luck to you!

There's many reasons to bleed during pregnancy and since you stated that they were light and only a week and a half apart, that could have been implantation bleeding or a few other things.

I took a test today and it was negative. On the plus side, no nausea this morning! I'm going to call the doctor now about everything else. Thanks for your replies everyone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
