Anyone have any low calorie snack food ideas? I am having trouble staying full.

I like the 100 calorie Snacks that are on the market. Fiber One brownies, pretzels, etc. Also, I buy string cheese which is like 80 calories a stick, smart beat cheese slices - 25 calories a slice, cottage cheese singles, chobani yogurt. Hope that helps!

Try to pick foods that are high in Protein and they'll keep you satisfied longer. A lot of the 100 calorie snack bags are just carbs, which might cause you to have a sugar craving later on in the day. I really like the Emerald cocoa and cinnamon roasted almonds because they're sweet but not loaded with carbs, and they're high in protein so they satisfy my sweet cravings, and my crunch cravings.

Remember that you need to find Snacks that are high in Protein, yet low in fat and sugar! Stay away from the 100 calorie packs that are full of sugar and fat. Stick with string cheese, boiled eggs, Peanut Butter and rice cakes, low fat yogurt (greek is good!).

My local newspaper had a great article with low fat eady Snacks last week. You can check it out here: http://www.thestarpress.com/article/20110807/DISH/108070317/Snack-time-can-still-healthy

I don't usually snack but when I feel hungry on a weekend because I am bored, I will put some Peanut Butter on a ritz cracker and that does the trick. Very filling and peanut butter is not too bad of a choice. I guess you can cheat every now and again as long as you go back to basics during the week and keep up an exercise routine. Trial and error is my method of trying to keep this weight off since being banded. Good luck.

I usually mix a some nuts (I, too like the cocoa almonds from Emerald) with some blueberries. Great nutritional value!! I also like to mix some Sugar Free Chocolate pudding cup with some fat free cool whip and some Unjury Protein Powder to help me with my Protein intake. This is absolutely delicious and helps me get the protein in. You do not taste the protein at all and it is a low calorie but delicious snack or dessert.

I asked my dietician the same question. She said individual nut packs (portion control!), cheese sticks, sliced crunchy veggies like peppers and cucumbers. Carrots dipped in hummas. High Fiber crackers with cheese. I occassionally have a slice of peeled apple with some Peanut Butter on it. Takes care of the crunchy and sweet craving.

In other words, if you find anything that tastes good, spit it out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
