Anyone ever feel their stomach move when they change positions?

Recommended Posts

Not an easy way to put this, but does anyone else ever "feel" their stomach move when they change positions? For instance if you are laying down in bed and then sit up, I feel something flop in my abdomen. Anybody else get this?

I don't know if it my stomach or the actual band that I feel move. It is the oddest sensation. The first couple days after I got banded, I swear it felt like the band was moving up and down, or catching or something. It was actually painful at first. Now I have gotten used to it and don't notice as much.

I hadn't been told about this, nor had I read about it, but I am glad that I am not the only one!

I know! It's so weird. I'm 2 1/2 weeks post-op and the first week it felt like my stomach was a sack of potatoes or something attached to the front of my body instead of part of me.

OMG! I thought I was bugging out. I am 11 days out and it has subsided but when I was within the first couple of days I felt it. I don't know if it was the weight of the band or what but it was weird.

I never had a burning sensation. I would call the doc and have that checked out. The stomach movement is not so much of the "snap back" sensation you are stating. Its more like a Water ballon moving. Look into that.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
