BeckyJane 2 Posted September 17, 2011 It's a busy day on Monday. I've been on a Pre-Op diet for a week and a half and have my surgery on Monday as well! Keep us posted on how you do! Becky I am new to this site. I will have my surgery on 9-19-2011. I am nervous but so excited that it is finely here. I have been reading many stories and gained a lot of knowledge about the surgery. I feel so confident that we will all be successful in our journeys.
BeckyJane 2 Posted September 17, 2011 Surgery Sept. 19! Pre-Op diet for 11 days now! I think I'm over my duldrums and looking forward to starting my life banded. In the home stretch now, for sure. I know I can do two more days. Got called to day and found out I'm scheduled for 8am Monday morning. I know I'm staying at least one night at the hospital. Got my liquid diet supplies and even some chicken "liquified" and ready to go. Getting the laundry done and getting my overnight bag packed. Ready to join those of you who have gone before this month. Thanks for all your input, thoughts, sharing and helps! It has calmed me down on more than one occasion! DawnMavity 0 Posted September 17, 2011 I am so happy to officially be a bandster. My surgery was this morning and everything went great. I have walked up the block twice this evening and feel good. The only issue I am having is a bit of asthma, but after a breathing treatment it is better.

It took me a little while before I could take a deep breath, it was just weird. Take care and get some rest!

DawnH 9 Posted September 18, 2011 How are you feeling? Has the burning sensation gotten better? I am feeling better! The burning is still there but a lot better. I did call the dr and they said that can be normal and it is most likely the connective tissue healing. I have still taken the pain medicine today but only half of the dose today. How are you feeling?
Scrapper4life 0 Posted September 18, 2011 Hi everyone. Glad to hear those who have had their surgery already are doing well. My surgery date is Sept 27. Today is day 6 of the pre-op diet, which I was super concerned about. It consists of 2 Protein Shakes, 1 Protein Bar & 2 cups of select veggies per day. It's been tough & I'm hungry quite a bit, but I haven't taken one bite of other food. I've even gotten used to the shakes & almost enjoy them. And I've lost 8 lbs already! Thanks to everyone for updating us after surgery, please keep it up! Lisa
bromo 17 Posted September 18, 2011 Awaking on the 4th day after surgery and I am feeling much better mentally. Maybe moving out of the fog of surgery or something, but am feeling much more like myself. I am still very sore on the left side and coughing is a real pain for sure, but the pain is less each day and soon I know it will be gone. Am still sleeping in the recliner as I cannot lie on my back due to lumbar problems and cannot lie any other way yet. Actually put on clothes this morning after my shower rather than pajamas and I think that in and of itself is a mental uplifter. However, I am having difficulty with pressure on my port site which is just right above my natural waist, so the clothes I put on this morning are the loosest I own. Hope this gives others some idea on what to expect perhaps, although we all heal differently and at varying speed.
pugsx3 39 Posted September 18, 2011 I had a slight fever yesterday, so I. Called my doc to see if that was normal. He asked how I. Was breathiing, and told him it hurt to breathe deeply. He said that was most likely the problem, and told me to work on my breathing and coughong to cleary lu.gx. Coughing hurts badly, but did ir anyway. Sure enough that took care of the problem. My advize to e erypne is to force deep breaths right sfter surgery, cause it only gets harder if you don'r.

Thanks, Dawn I've been eating the same things. I had a bowl of cream of chicken Soup first, and thought I. Died and went to heaven it tasted so good. I also melted some cheese in cream of potato, that was good too. I can't bring myself to do a shake yet. It's funny - I can only eat half can of doup before getting full. I used to have a whole can and a sandwich and chips. I guess the band is working the eay I wanted it to - Yeah!
bromo 17 Posted September 18, 2011 I posted in another thread that I just had pureed and strained vegetable beef Soup and felt the same way about being in heaven. Even though the shakes are actually not bad, it is nice tasting something else besides chocolate and vanilla.< /p>
