Long story short... I started this journey early June...took care of every single thing (nut, ekg, psych, pulmo, pcp, letters...)by July 20th. Today is August 11th and my insurance co. has not received the necessary information from surgeons office. In fact bcbs told me today that's they called amd left messages to my surgeons office on august 3rd and 10th...to remind the office staff to fax over the necessary paperwork to starts pre-certification process and my casemanager told me that's they have not even returned her calls. I have talked to the staff, the surgeon.... I have done all I could. Im so so sad :(

Today I decided to start this process again with a different surgeon. I called around and found 2 surgeons in my area. The truth is that I dont know if I even want to do this all over again, now...I might wait a few months. Perhaps I have issues ...because I feel rejected by my surgeon... Im a little crushed...if surgeons want $$$, how terrible is it that my $$$ is not good enough....just heartbroken :(

There is really no need to have to do all the testing etc all over again. Go to a new surgeon and just get the records from all the tests you had and give them to him/her. You can do it!

I think that the process should be really easy. You probably can take all your paper work from the prior surgeon and just give the new surgeon all the information.I would not make my decision not to have the band, because the surgeon's office are not on the job.

Go there and ask for a copy of everything that have in your folder!!! You have the right to it, it's your info! Then see if you can take it to the next surgeon ( the new one) and let him know u have done all steps. Maybe u wouldn't have to go through it all again if he would accept them.
