genesishanna 2 Posted August 11, 2011 I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow at 1pm and I could only have Clear Liquids. Please don't take this to me a complaint, but more like a concern. Since I have not eaten since yesterday, I have a serious headache with a trace of nausea. It is what it is and I am not going to give up now by eating. I did boil a bouillon cube to make a clear broth (very tasty). However, it didnt do the trick. I am afraid that I will feel like this after surgery and will be miserable. Please help me out, how did you handle this?
JamieC 4 Posted August 12, 2011 You will feel fine. Don't worry. Be excited. I was banded yesterday and I am going to work half a day tomorrow

graphix1 6 Posted August 12, 2011 Could it possibly be withdrawal from caffeine? I know that causes the worst headach ever. I had the same thing happen after a surgery I had 2 years ago. I drink a lot of Diet Coke and I didn't have any for about 24+ hours and the doctor said that was the cause of my headache.
JamieC 4 Posted August 12, 2011 I have not been hungry at all. I have been eating sugar free Popsicles. I had about 3 oz of chicken broth yesterday. Today I had half a Protein Shake about 4 Popsicles and a ton of Water. You have some swelling from insertion and you are not really hungry. It was a struggle getting the Protein shake down. I felt full. Good luck! You'll do great! I think if we all work hard we have a lot to look forward to. It not going to be easy. But maybe now it won't be impossible. JamieC 4 Posted August 12, 2011 Ps. Caffeine withdrawal causes headaches. I quit caffeine a few months ago. But my doc said taking the occasional excedrin is fine and it has caffeine in it so it helps a ton!
