Weird, but entering One-derland was anti-climatic

Recommended Posts

I was so looking forward to entering One-derland, as everyone here seems so joyous when finally doing so. But I became a one-derland-ite two days ago and all I did was smile and say "cool!" No crying with joy, super exultation, anything.

I still feel the band is my salvation and the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time. But after not seeing the under side of 200 for soooo long, I was surprised it was "just" another good weighing day. Anyone else feel that way?

I am far from there but that is okay. I have gotten under the really dreaded 300. Not sure WHERE that came from. But I go by 10's...Now I want to be out of the 60's. It took me a LONGGGG time to get out of the 70's (Before banding) and I thought I was going to poke a stick in my eye but I got thru it. Now lets see what the next chapter, with band, holds. No fill yet, not even week post surgery but wow glad I found you guys it has been a blessing. Like my husband (Mr. I have never been one lb overweight in all my years) just said "Good for you to find others that understand"...AMEN!''

I know I will be very happy... When my band got messed up from bad aftercare, I was down to 201 from 356. I was devastated

Now I am on a roll again, and I will welcome it with open arms.

I get happy about any weight loss. Not jump up an down (almost break the scale- I literally LOL'ed at that) happy, but I am definately very satisfied. I have been at this horrid plateau for 3 months! After 2 months, doc thought I had a slip and ALL Fluid was removed, luckily I didnt gain any.... but once some Fluid was put back in, my weight loss finally started back up! I got on the scale this morning to see a almost 4 lb weight loss this week. After such a long plateau, I was excited! It also brough be back down below 240... that was also cool.

I agree. Sit back and look at how far you have come.Under 200 lbs... I dont know what you started at, but that is quite an acheivement. I dont remember when I last weighed that, but I do remember as a freshman in high school telling myself "ok your, over 175, but as long as you dont go over 200, you will be ok". Be happy for what you are doing, and the accomplishments you have made!

i just wanted to add my two cents...i've done 25 pound mini-goals since surgery. i always think i'm going to get really excited when i hit one, but they've all been anti-climatic for me. onederland was as well. i have 16 more pounds until i reach my ultimate goal, and i'm hoping that will be the end point when i finally feel really excited. don't get me wrong, i am so pleased with my weight loss and love being able to do things that i couldn't do a year ago...but i completely get the anti-climatic thing. don't feel bad...just keep losing!

I saw 212 last week and literally cried. Cried! I was like what? This isn't a major number, what's wrong with you. LOL. But now I'm officially 31.5 pounds down. The weight loss has come off very slowly for me. So I am so excited to hit a major hurdle.

Gosh, now I really wonder what I'll do at 199  . Congrats to everyone, whatever milestone you hit.

My reaching onederland was also very anti climatic. In my case I feel 198 is just still a little too close 200, like I may wake up tomorrow and be 200 lbs. I think when I reach 180 I'll be jumpin up and down on the scale lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
