Hello everyone,

So, I went in for a second fill this afternoon. I was previously at a 4.8 cc with my first fill and

it gave me a decent amount of restriction. However, I was still able to eat a good amount of food.< /span>

Today has been exactly 6 weeks from the last time I had my fill and they added 2 more CC's

to it, making it a grand total of 6.8 cc.

At first, I was like, "I do not feel a difference." and still had that mindset when I was at work in the office (HUNGER kicked in and my stomach growled like a beast).

After a few Protein Shakes and relaxing at home, I feel it a little more, not much.

My question is, how many more fills until I get the glorious "sweet spot?"

I know we are all different, but I would love to hear your inputs and experience with fills.

Have a great night

I had my 2nd fill last Weds and I could feel a difference (I'm now 6cc) but it wasn't until I was back to eating regular food that I could really notice the difference. Finally, I have some restriction but I'm not at my sweet spot just yet. The restriction I have really helps and I find I don't think about food so much now. That alone is a big deal for me! :D

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
