This may be a stupid question but...

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I hope that you don't find this a stupid question but here goes-

does anyone have any suggestions for supportive underwear (not Spanx) that are comfortable and will really help suck in my belly. I have the dreaded droopy apron thing going on and as I'm losing weight I really would love to look a bit flatter and not so jiggly. I really appreciate any suggestions that you might have.

The only stupid question is the one that goes unasked! Before I had my TT I did my best to wear things that drew attention to other parts of my body. I would wear "skinny jeans" or leggings with a shirt that was blousey and maybe showed off a little cleavage. That way the eye was drawn to the boobs and thighs and the middle was hidden.

You could consider underware that has some spandex, lycra (95% cotton, 5% lycra). It would be better than plain cotton. If you're really looking for a lot of support however I think you will need to look into a Spanx like product.

I had 2 C-sections plus the extra weight so I definitely will always have a floppy belly unless I get a TT (which I am not really thinking about at this point). The only thing that really held me in was stockings from JCPenny (tummy control queen sized). It really did the trick. When I was on the dating scene I would wear them with a short because they pulled the fat in from my legs too-and they were comfortable! I know it's summer but with fall hits you might wantto check out somesupport stockings.

Thanks for your input. I have Spanx but I was looking for something cheaper. I also tend to wear all cotton and they don't really hold you in but they are comfortable :)

Why not go for an awesome wide garter belt? You get double duty: 1) you hold in your tummy 2) you get to feel sexy

Hips & Curves has some good looking ones for "plus sizes" and if you don't need a plus size then you have lots of other online options.

Flexes is a cheaper brand. You can find them at Target and sometimes at Walmart.< /span>

Thanks for this information.....I was just thinking the same thing. I bought a dress yesterday for a wedding and could actually use a size smaller but am not comfortable with all the jiggle happening, so something like this might help me feel more comfortable in the smaller size. I just didn't want to spend a ton of money and I have a body hugger from before but it is so uncomfortable and it is impossible to get down if you have to use the bathroom so it was worn once and stuck in a drawer. I'll look into these Flex ones. I had Spanx but don't know where they went.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
