I have always wanted to be a runner.... Numerous reasons that go above and beyond health issues.

Anyone tried the C25K program? Anyone want to try it with me?! Ive been looking at jogging strollers (I have an 8 month old), this is really something I want to do. I plan on starting tomorrow- I only worrry because I do live in the deep south (incredibly hot and humid)... I used to have the endurance to do my cardio on the eliptical for 45 min and a higher than average speed (that was before I got preggers and gained 80 lbs).

I am still 240+ lbs, and i will taylor this schedule to meet my needs. I will try it as is, and if it is too much, I will cut back....

I WILL GET THIS WEIGHT OFF. SOON. This is how I will do it....

Anyone with me?!

Great! Thanks! I'm pulling up my computer now so I can check it out! I'm starting in the morning! I'm a bit nervous, I have not decided if I should take out the stroller, or see if my sis will sit with her while I start. I know my dog will LOVE it!

I figure if I do it after her early AM bottle (around 500) it won't be too hot, won't be much traffic, and she will have gone back to sleep... Admiral (my Great Dane) and I can go out...

I can do this! I know I can! I may have to take it a bit slower than the program suggests, but I can do this!

I tried it pre- band and found I couldn't get pass week 5. I'd like to try again now with 22 lbs. gone. I too live in the south (fl) and it is saying to hot! I think I'll start it in two weeks when my oldest starts kindergarten then hit the treadmill at the gym. Good luck with the program, it's really great and it's very rewarding!

I did my first day! Took Admiral (my Great Dane) with me! He was ready to quit before me! I can't wait to get over this weight loss plateau!

Theres a whole thread about C25K in the exercise forum.

I was trying to get into it but I had to realize I just can't do it. I have an internally degraded left knee and it really started to hurt on week 2 .

Then on top of that we had a car accident 2 weeks ago that aggravated everything so I'm gonna have to go back to Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds.

The best to you on completing the program I hear it can be ver rewarding when you complete it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
