I know...I have had a bad two months, not gained, but not lost, but I am still getting comments about clothes looking nice, and looking thinner. Lots of people know I am trying to lose weight. Not sure what is going on, but not complaining. I haven't lost in two months! But, I just made a post saying I am back on track. I'll take looking thinner however it comes, pounds or inches! Inches are good!

I wouldn't worry so much about losing pounds as long as you are losing inches. It could be that with exercise you are gaining muscle which weighs more. Congrats on losing inches as I bet you look better in your clothes.

Inches lost are much more important than pounds. As Lilium said, muscle weighs more than fat. Keep losing the inches and eventually the scale will catch up.

It's not that muscle WEIGHS more than fat, it weighs the same. A pound is a pound no matter what. A pound of muscle takes up less space then a pound of fat which equals inches lost.

I did not lose anything for 3 months, but I went from an 18 to a 14.....so yeah, I think the inches are way more important!:Banane04:

On the other hand, since I had my ileostomy reversed, i've gained 10lb and not gained an inch in size! It must be all rehydration, dehydration is a constant problem with an ileostomy. But it goes to show that what the scales say dont tell you much about body composition and things can change for the better without a change in weight. Likewise all weight loss or gain doesnt necessarily mean you've lost or gained fat!

Its weird losing weight this time. I feel like I am losing alot more inches this time around. The last time I was in a 14, I weighed about 180 or so, but now I am fitting into a 14 and I weigh 197. I wonder why that is...

I am so glad that others are dealing with this also! I've been so discouraged because the scales aren't moving. But I exercise hard and I run and I can definitely tell that my smaller size clothes are getting bigger!! But I want to see the lost weight reflect on those SCALES!!!!!

A scale that tells you your body composition can be helpful - I know they can be a tad inaccurate, but my scale is telling me that despite my 10lb gain - my body fat level has not increased - my hydration level and my lean muscle mass has. So all that Body Pump is probably paying off and I've gained healthy weight from being so skinny during chemo.

It still stings to gain weight, warped as it is, I loved seeing 60kg (actually underweight for me) on the scales, sigh. But at least I can know that its good healthy weight that I needed and not allow that to send me off in a comfort eating frenzy.

Same with when you're not losing. You can still see that you're achieving, numbers can help where fitting into smaller clothes might not convince you.

How long ago was it? I think manufacturers have changed the way they size things. Designer duds are sized different than less expensive stuff as well.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
