perrysmom 0 Posted August 5, 2011 Hi All, I'm just beginning to start the process towards getting banded. Sounds like they will be putting a wildlife tracking tag on. I've been trying to read up on banding and have been talking to a co-worker who went through it in December 2008. She has done so great and looks wonderful -- down 150 pounds! The post-op diets that I'm reading scare me more than a little. One of the reasons my diets have failed in the past is because I always felt hungry, even when on a high Protein, low carb diet. I could have gnawed my arm off. I just can't do it on my own and at 46 year of age, I'm not getting any younger. However, I am getting bigger especially after I started taking my new blood pressure meds. Not saying that my eating and lack of exercise don't have anything to do with it, but I sure think the meds are contributing to it. Like I need that kind of help! One thing that all the sites seem to agree is that support groups are VERY important. So I thought I'd jump right in and benefit from the advise that those of you who have gone (or are going) through it can impart. It will be nice to be in a place that isn't judgemental. Bluegreen 0 Posted August 5, 2011 When reading your post, I felt like I had written it myself. I am also 46 and just started the process to be banded back in April. Due to my insurance requirements, my surgery won't be scheduled until October sometime. Hunger has been my biggest issue, too. I have actually been at the same weight for many years, but I guess I'm just eating to maintain. I have been seeing a nutritionist (insurance requirement), but I'm not doing very well. I lost 7 lbs initially, but have gained most of it back. I have found this website to be very helfpul. I am trying to jump on here daily. Earlier today, several people posted before & after pictures. Those were great. Best of luck to you!
perrysmom 0 Posted August 5, 2011 Oh no, pls tell me what BP medicine u r on! Diovan HCT 320/25 mg It's bp and waterpill all in one It really does help with the bp and doesn't give me the cough or massively swelled ankles. None of the other bp meds I tried helped. I was still at stroke levels. I'm sure it's only a small part in the recent weight gain.
