Of course you can loose 100 lbs, but to do that you must listen to your band and follow bandster rules. The band will be a slower process than the bypass but in my opinion a healthier way to do it.

actually, it depends on whether you actually have to lose 100 pounds. It might be that you have a higher fat free mass (FFM) than you think. Which is a very good think indeed!

The band will help you loose slower than any of the by-pass methods.

gee I hope so !!!!! I have lost 85 pounds in 8 1/2 months, and hope to hit 100 before my anniversary on May 23rd. There are alot of bandsters here who have done well with their band, and you will be too. :clap2:

Yes it is possible, and I believe others have said it everyone is different, and to listen to the band. I believe using my band as a tool, and I never thought I would lose 100 pounds, never 157 pounds so far...and will keep going.

Good luck

Suzan

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
