Morning all...Ok question?? Do we recopy the chart eveytime or do we go back and edit the one we originally posted? Just wondering?

I exercised again today..I am giving myself a pat on the back because it is 2 days in a row...I know that sounds silly but I felt like crap this morning and wanted to stay in bed...but I made myself get up and do my Gazelle for 30 minutes. BOy....I can feel it in my calves! Just had ot share a personal victory!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

How goes it today? I hope that the challenge is going well for everyone!

Mine is going good. Two workouts in two days...and have been eating better. Which means that my head hunger is crazy!

At least hubby and I are going through it together so I have some sympathy at home!

Diane - Your chart looks good! You are doing great!

Stacey - What is gazelle? I haven't heard of it!

Nanster - My Mom just had a total knee replacement on 4/20. So she is still in the icky first two weeks. Poor thing...she is really depressed and just can't get comfortable. I am trying to be her biggest cheerleader and keep her going. We have been told that it gets better after the first couple of weeks...What was your experience like?

Tamyrn - chocolate ban? Hmmm....sounds like it might now be a bad idea. I got really stressed at work yesterday and went straight for peanut m&m's...not good!

Ms. Vicki - Congrats on the second fill. I already scheduled mine. How are you feeling?

Sunta - I know 1 lbs. a week is frustrating. You are doing great! Keep up the good work and I know you will continue and meet your goals!

Woohoo!! Glad to see more of you in the challenge! I gotta tell you, it's working for me. I wanted to cheat, MAN! I wanted to cheat! But Mikey said, "You'll have to write that down on the challenge & not get your 'choices' points." GRRRRR!!!! So I did good. **SIGH!!** And then I didn't want to take my vitamin... but I wanted the point, lol. Hope it's kicking your collective booties into gear like it is mine! :)

Go Diane! I know you can make 10 pounds! Get to drinking that Water & moving that bod! :) You can do it!!

First you have to cut your finger, then mail us your blood... just kidding. :eek: Our pact is that we can have a small piece of cake on our birthday & ONE serving of chocolate during that time of the month, heh. Of course some of us have one serving for each other's birthdays & times of the month as well, to support each other. :)

I love your idea of a "food divorce"! I'm getting there... we threw out all the bad stuff. So now we HAVE to eat well, lol. It stinks! :) But I think I'll be happy in the end. ;)

Hi Nanster! To "download" the scorecard:

1. Highlight the blank one with your mouse (I think it's on page 39, depending on how you're setup)

2. Right click & select "Copy"

3. Scroll down to the quick reply box

4. Click inside the box so it has the focus

5. Press Control + V to paste (Or, go up to the Edit menu & select Paste)

6. Click on the "Post Quick Reply" button.

Then, when you want to update your numbers, click on the "Edit" button of your scorecard & fill stuff in. That way you can use just 1 card for the entire month. It is a little confusing to find the correct blank, but we'll get the hang of it (I hope).

If you can't get it to work, let me know & I can do a scorecard for you. :)

Oh my word, Michelle exercised 2 days in a row too? AUGH!!! I'm so behind!! :)

I'm so glad folks are doing well & are using the challenge as motivation! Note: each day is 1 column... it's hard to see when you're in edit mode, but Monday = the first blank for each challenge, Tuesday = 2nd blank, etc. Also, for things like "water" or "exercise", if you get 8 points for the day, just put an "8" in the slot for the day. So for water & exercise, the number can be just about anything. For food choices, it can be a 0, 1, 2 or 3.

And now... for the update!! (Drum roll please!) For those that have updated all their numbers:

Mikey: 50

Stacey: 38

Diane: 13

Mikey's killing us with water!!!! He drinks at least 128 oz of water daily. I'm trying to keep up, lol, but haven't made it yet! We can catch him! We just have to exercise more! Or make good food choices... he & I have been falling down on that one this week.

Hehe...

I do have some small advantages. First, I work from home - so multiple trips to the bathroom aren't as bad as for some folks... Secondly, I'm HUGE!!! So that much Water isn't as scary for me.

On the other hand, I'm still a ways from doing an hour of exercise, or weighing every day, or some of those other things... :)

Man Janet - you have one hell of a memory! If you let your capsule soak for about 2 minutes it will get a wobbly, overripe grape look to it and it becomes very easy to swallow. I got that bit of advise from my band doc. This will not work - at least I don't think it will - with a caplet (tablet that has been coated with the same stuff capsules are made of) (?) (now that I think about it, WHAT ARE CAPSULES MADE OF?) (I probably don't really want to know, huh?).

Heh, I think caplets are candy coated -- at least a lot of them are red, lol. (Don't ask me why red = candy!) Hopefully everyone can find capsules instead of caplets. I haven't tried it yet -- so far I've done all liquid. But I just can't stomach liquid Vitamin B, so I may just have to try a capsule!

Yesterday was not a good band-day. I, um, ate all day. Funny, even with restriction, if you try REALLY hard you can overeat, lol. Of course my new definition of overeat is a lot smaller then it used to be... but it's still more then I need. I tried to rationalize & say that it was because I've done so well... that my body somehow NEEDED to eat. Pft! We know we don't believe it, lol.

So back on the wagon today!! While one day won't kill me, it does reinforce the wrong set of habits, so I have to fight hard to not let them come back full time!

One side note, lol, I did manage to drink 12 - 8 oz glasses of water!! How on EARTH does Mikey drink 16? Heh. He does sweat a lot (Texas & summer, yeck), so I guess he needs it.

JerseyTammy? You doing ok? Been thinking of you & missing you & hoping this week's better for ya!

Fills: March 30th (1st fill) +3.0, 3.0cc total

April 20th (2nd fill) +3.0cc, 4.0cc total (Huh? Where'd my 2.0cc saline go??)

Current weight: 220.5lbs - Woot!

You guys are awesome! Its so inspiring to see everyone's successes! :clap2:

Hey Everyone...

Wow it's hard to get used to this restriction being fickle. It's like on one day you can get normal amouts of healthy food down and then other day it's pain and PB all day.

I love reading here and checking on everyones progress.

Does anyone have any good suggestions on canned Soups. I'm not a veggie person and cambells taste so "blah" but I still eat it. I've been eating some "soup at hand" and they are ok. I wish there was canned Soup that tasted as good as like Applebee's Tomasto Basil or O'Charlies Loaded Potato.

Hello my friends

There is always so much that happens here from day to day that I wont even try to address everyone but will just say this.....wow, you're all doing so wonderfully.

I have made myself an appointment with the my family doctor. I was once on effexor (sure that isnt spelled right) for depression and mood swings. Well before my surgery I had weened myself off of them and was doing ok. But I think I am going to have to start taking them again. I already take a blood pressure pill, a pill for a PVC heart rythmn, and xanax as needed for panic attacks. I so didnt want to add yet another pill to the bunch. Oh and lets not forget my 2 chewable vitamins a day. So I have come to the conclusion, I am going to lose so much weight that I wont need the blood pressure pill any more therefore leaving a space for the effexor. I know I know maybe what I really need is a straight jacket.

It is just so hard being away from all my family ( I am in NJ and they are all in SC), not really having any friends here, 3 teenage daughters, and a husband that lives, eats and breaths golf. Sigh I said I wasnt going to do this, sorry guys, I know I have it alot better than some and some have it a lot better than me. I just need to be thankful for what I have and keep the faith. I am trying believe me!

OK enough of my wooo is me!!

Tell me more about this form I put my weight on, am I suppose to fill it out every day or just once a week?

I am soo far behind, I cant seem to think, someone help me out here!

Cashley, I've been using the Campbell's Select (I think). I won't say their restaurant quality, but at least they have their own bowl! One thing that ticks me off, though... that "bowl" = 2 servings, so keep it in mind. They're still not terrible for calories, but why on earth would they package 2 servings!?!

Awwww Tammy-J! Sounds like you're going through it, girl! Hang in there!! If you can, get outside & in the sun for at least 15 min a day. If you can't stand to walk that long, go out & sit on a bench or something! And seriously, get the effexor if it'll help -- we're going through a TON of changes, and when you lose weight you release hormones, like we don't have enough of those already! Talk about mood swings!

On the form, if you want to, go back to the post where you put your score card (it's back a page or so), edit your scorecard post & then put a point value for your weight. You get 1 point for every half pound... so it's 2 points a pound. (Example: I somehow lost 3.5 pounds on Tuesday, so I got 7 points that day. The other days I haven't lost, so I get 0 points).

But seriously, this is just for fun & motivation... if it's not fun or motivating, if it puts stress on ya, then please, please, please, don't do it! :)

Hi Janet,

Are you going to crash the DFW Bandsters lunch today? I was going to but I woke up in a crappy, mean, pissed off mood. My husband was sooooo thrilled. I was going to go with him to get his hair cut, pick up my engagement ring (loose stones - aaaahhhhhh!) and then go up to Plano for Linner (lunch + dinner = Linner) (or Dunch I suppose). Oh well - it's best for the world if I stay in my house. My poor dogs though. Grrrrr.

Hi everyone else on February Unite thread. I'm too cranky to try to find nice things to say. Sorry. I suck.

I'll be nicer next time. Or at least try. Or keep to myself.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
