megananne7 1 Posted August 3, 2011 Still having a lot of pain. Was given liquid Lortab/Vicodin for pain but it's not helping much (I have a family history on both sides of pain med tolerance). Only thing that helped me get some sleep last night was some Flexeril I had . Right now most of my pain is a deep aching pain in my lower sternum/chest, with occasional sharp pain. Most of the time with the pain, it's with inspiration and movement. Not hungry at all, but I'm trying to take frequent sips of clears. Is it normal to not be hungry at this stage in the game? Wishing I had an abdominal binder, but not sure where to get one outside of the hospital... Does anyone have any tips for me?
reverie 49 Posted August 3, 2011 A lack of hunger is completely normal; it'll come back sooner than you'd like Focus on getting your Water in, dehydration is a big problem after any type of surgery. Rest as much as possible! I say you'll feel much better in 4-5 days.

jen120 23 Posted August 4, 2011 Congrats on your surgery! Get a small pillow to hold against your stomach when getting up or moving around. It helps to hold things in and not move around as much. I know how you feel about the pain meds. Vicodin has no effect on me either. Luckily I wasn't in too much pain after surgery. Get plenty of rest and keep drinking. You'll start to feel better with each passing day. I wish you a smooth and speedy recovery!
