ok so they unfilled me

Recommended Posts

Ok as I stated in my other topic I had a prolapse. they unfilled me and now I have zero restriction. My question is does any body's doctors office give you a large fill at once? My office will only give me 1cc at most at a time. This is frustrating and expensive. I pay my insurance copay each time and its an all day affair. I spend most of the day dealing with the office visit and I have to miss work. i currently have 5.5 cc in my band. at the time of the problem I had 11 cc. Are there any doctors that will give you a 3-4cc fill at once? Its going to take me 6 months to get back to restriction. I am just wondering if its my office that is so slow at giving fills and I cant help but wonder if they may be doing it for extra insurance payments. I just hate all the needle sticks and the chance of messing up the port area with unneeded fills if its not necessary. thanks for any input.

I just had my first fill today and my doc filled me 3 ccs. So i'm assuming it's just that doctor. And if it's just for your insurance money then that's just wrong on many levels. smh.

I've recently filled again from being totally unfilled and in my 4cc band I got 1.5cc, 1 cc, 0.5cc. So three fills over a twelve week period. I dont need any more, but if I chose to, they would now be tiny 0.1cc ones.

I have not had a fill yet, but my doctor does 4 cc during the first fill and then 1-3 depending on the person and size of the band.

Good Luck with your healing and I hope you get back to your green zone as soon as possible.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
