I am right there with you, on all the above. I am scheduled for surgery on the 29th of August and I have not told anyone but my husband, and HR at work because I have to be off work. I can not bring myself to answer anyones questions, opnions or thoughts. I am thinking this is very personal, and as long as my husband is onboard, and I am ready than that is all that matters.

I am on a pure clear liquid diet and allowed 5 no-sugar carnation instant Breakfast packets, and I am half way done. I have a goal to loose 75 lbs by Monday and I am soooo close I am in the high 60's and heck I am not eating really anything :)

I find I am going to have to start reaching out on here because I am still not ready to tell anyone close to me. I have already found I am not alone, and not the only one starving.

Speaking of starving, why do I have this urge to eat? I have exactly one week till surgery and I feel like I want to eat more than these Protein shakes!!! It's scarrin me! Is it my nerves? Is it me dreading the thought that I won't eat these things anymore? What the heck?

I am right there with u, I have exactly 6 days until my surgery and I am doing my Protein shakes, but the diet they gave me includes yogurt, canned fruit, bananas and broth. cottage cheese, pop and fudgescicles...so i am not totally starving. but it sucks watching my honey eat manicotti and chicken breasts, which i cooked for him, cause i figure i have to get used to the smell of good food around that i cant have.

i have been struggling with my choice to have the surgery and questioning if i should wait awhile longer and get my heart blip checked out or not, and get some psychological counseling first, well last year i had gone to a seminar and the doctor i really wanted to do my surgery wasnt taking my insuracne at that time, but this morning of all times, they call me and tell me i am on his list of call backs and hes taking my insurance now and am i still interested.

i am more confused than ever now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
