I am 2 days shy of being banded for a week now. I read the boards on how most ppl is going out and being active just a few days after their banding. I realize everybodys body is different and we all react different ways. Should I be concerned that I have been getting nauseous still? I am rarely hungry and just feel so sick to my stomach. I have been taking the pills I was given. It just concerns me why I am taking so long to heal. Am I just being a baby or is this common for some ppl? I am seeing my doctor tomorrow for my post op visit.

You're fine. My nausea lasted for a month. I carried around a bottle of Emetrol every where I went. It's a cherry flavored liquid and CVS has their own brand. I think its only about 4 bucks. Works almost instantly!

I am 6 days post op and first day back at work. I still have a nauscious (spelling?) tinge in the bottom of my stomach but I haven't actually thrown up in a day and a half. I just have an over all feeling of lathargy which is actually getting a bit better as I am forcing myself to drink ALL of my Protein drinks. Have you been drinking all of your Protein shakes and hitting your Protein number? I am finding that my nausea is actually abading as I am consuming more. I get to go to mushies tonight I am sooo ready I think I am going to eat some Grits! Good luck with your journey!

In general, when I'm overly hungry I get nauseated. Even if your brain and tummy say "I'm not hungry" if your'e not getting enough nutrition, your body will say otherwise.

Good Luck on your Journey :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
