DarleneRN 4 Posted July 31, 2011 My mother in law gave me a recipe for a smoothie, it sounded absolutely gross, so I ignored it. She insisted I try it, and since I have trouble getting in all my veggie and fruit servings, I did. It was delicious. Just try it! Let me know what you think! 1/2 cup plain greek yogart 2 tbsp splenda 2 tbsp fat free evaporated milk 1small banana (frozen when possible) 1 small peach (peeled and sliced) 2 strawberries 2 1/2 cups fresh bagged spinach 1/2 cup ice Blend until smoothie.... 14 grams protein! All your veggie/fruit serving for the day!
CheckYes 46 Posted July 31, 2011 I'd guess it has about 300 calories, yes? That's not bad although I think 2 tablespoons of splenda seems like a lot of splenda! I think I'd switch to fat free greek yogurt, minimize the splenda and dump the evaporated milk. You could probably throw a scoop of Protein powder in there and double the Protein in it! Does the spinach make it green? I add some spinach in to stuff frequently but sometimes the color just turns me off!
