Banded 54 days ago and??

Recommended Posts

I'm doing ok loosing weight but my stomach is super bloated. I don't know if it's still from the surgery or what but it's really bothering me. I was thinking perhaps because other parts of my body is getting smaller its magnifying my stomach but I actually feel bloated any suggestions are appreciated.

My understanding from the literature that I received from my clinic is that the bloating can last for several months so it could just be bloating left over from the surgery.

Hope that helps.

Hi! Congrat on your new journey. I have been banded almost a year now. The bloating can last a few months. They put alot of gas in you for the surgery. Also you stomach is healing so it will be swollen for a bit. When you go in for your next fill I would ask the doctor what he thinks. Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks so much. I just can't wait for it to go down. Nothing worst than being able to go 1or 2 sizes down n still looking 10 mos pregnant.

Did you perhaps start drinking whey Protein Shakes? You could be lactose-intolerant which might cause bloating. Maybe switch to soy and reduce any dairy you've been having.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
