Post menopausal bleeding

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am not yet banded. but have a tentative approval provided I meet insurance standards. I have been trying to eat healthier and exercise. Could that restart my cycle after a two year cessation? I started bleeding yesterday, so I immediately jumped on the internet and scared myself

I have an appt. Friday with my new doctr's office with their cnm (certified nurse midwife). Mountain out of molehill, I hope.

Needed to write it out, somehow still scared.:Banane37: Thanks for listening Robbie

Its not beyond the realms of possibility. However, if it worries you, get it checked out! Its never worth ignoring things like unexplained bleeding.

However, if you've simply improved your heatlh so much by a few simple changes, then that's FANTASTIC. Knowing that will give you a huge boost at the start of your journey.

I appreciate the good thoughts and I have calmed down a lot since I posted this, but I am 56 and I don't think any improvement in my health should turn back the clock quite this much. rolleyes.gif Since my original post I have talked to a number of other post menopausal women who have had unexpected restarts of their cycle. I had hoped I was done with "monthly supplies." I am impressed with the promptness of the new insurance company's response to my concern. I have my appointment with my new PCP to discuss banding on August 24. Wish me luck.

I agree with the other posters. Definitely get it checked into.

My mom went that about 18 months after she finished menopause. They checked everything out, did a d & c and she never had a problem after that. Although they did check her every 6 months for about 2 years just to be safe. That was 10+ years ago and she has not had any problems since (she is 67 now)

My best to you!

Thanks for all the input. Finally had my appointment with the nurse midwife. Lots of blood tests and I noticed the blood looked a little orange rather than dark red. I am anemic. So I go to the appointment and expect to hear the usual soothing medical doubletalk that doesn't actually say anything. Apparently they don't teach that in midwife school. The first thing out of her mouth is,"With a woman your age and these symptoms, my first thought is endometrial cancer." Picking my jaw up off the floor, we schedule an ultrasound to check the thickness of my uterine lining (it should be under 4 mm). So more tests on August 17.

Robbie (moving on):scared:

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
