What is the difference between and upper GI and the Endoscopy?How do they do and endoscopy test?:)

You know, I don't have a clue, but I figured I'd better bump this before it fell off the front page. I Know we hae some folks who know the difference because they've had them done.

I could have sworn I was just reading about this about a week ago. I haven't figured out where yet, though. Maybe do a serach? I think there is some stuff on this on here. GOOD LUCK!

Hi desertmom, it's the same difference as I posted to you earlier.

Endoscopy is the "technique" for how they see inside you.

Upper GI is where they look.

An endoscopy is done by running a thin, flexible tube with a camera & light on the end (called an endoscope, which is why any procedure done with this tool, regardless of where it's done at, is referred to as "endoscopy") down your throat, to whever they're needing to see... roughly, the esophogus & duodenum parts of the gastrointestinal system.
