I went to the dermatologist about some hair loss(totally unrelated to the band). Long story short I cant do anything to my hair for 3 months except wash/shampoo and wear wigs! i cried like a baby. no weave!!!!!ugh! but on a totally opposite and positive note, when i picked up my prescription from Walmart i decided to buy a pair of XL scrub pants( i usually wear 2X and they are too big) and lo and behold i can fit them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!! HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE!!!!!!!:D

I know how good that feels! On previous diets I'd only gotten down to a 2XL in scrubs and shirts and stuff. The day I was like ok let me try and the XL scrubs fit I felt the best I'd felt in years. It's a great feeling and congrats!!! Recently I started wearing large scrubs, though the pants are a little uncomfortable still, I was pulling my XL pants up every 5 minutes and that was really annoying.

Congrats on the scrubs! I really enjoy reading these posts! They give others at the beginning of their journey (like me) hope and inspiration and the confidence that we too can succeed!!!

Thank you for that!

Congrats! The wigs will be fine. They are much cheaper. I wore them all the time when I was growing out my hair to go natural. I just got someone to braid my hair underneath. It should make your hair grow fast just as long as you keep it washed, conditioned, and moisturized.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
