How much cc's was you fill for those who have lost more then 100 pounds?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering for those of you that 100 pounds or more, what was your fill maxed at? Like how many cc's did you have in your band to get to the correct place, not too full and not not full enough.

I've had between 5-6 in a 10cc band for most of my journey. Right now I feel like I'm right where I need to be at 5.8. You can't compare that to anything though. You might find yourself in the green zone at 3 or you might need 8. Everybody is different. As you lose fat the band loosens and you will need more added. That's why it's so important to have regular appointments especially through the first year or so.

Cindy is exactly right. As you lose, the band gets looser and you will need tweaks to get back to the green zone. It's different for every one.

At 2 years out, I've lost exact count of how much I have in my band, but I know it's somewhere around 5.5 or 6 cc's. I came out of surgery with 3cc's. Had 1 cc added at first fill, and since then my fills have all been .5 & .2cc (yes, 1/2 and 1/5 of a cc.. very small). The small fills work perfectly for me.

I went in about every 6 weeks during my first year... sometimes I got an adjustment, sometimes I didn't.

My last fill was also .2cc. It made all the difference in the world. I went from a very long plateau to losing about 12 pounds in 3 months. When you consider that .2cc=4 drops that really is amazing!!

Cindy, you are wise and amazing! Congrats on your success so far!! You're almost there! Question-- regarding the band loosening, it loosens because your stomach is shrinking? I never thought of that, but it makes sense! If you are losing everywhere else, why not also the star spot?!

OMG! Yo are AMAZING!! Do you have any before and after pics? You are such an inspiration! And I am sooo glad to see that you did it at the ripe ol age of 53! I'm 63. You are 10 years smarter than me. But it is never too late. Your life must be so totally different. Do you have your story somewhere? Supe congrats!! And thanks so much for being such an inspiration! Keep up the amazing work! You sound so casual-- was it a relatively "easy" journey for you? It has been for me so far-- but I still have a long way to go.

I have to agree that it will be different for you. But I am 22 lbs below goal and have lost 117 lbs. I had 7.65 and then had .10 removed and I am pretty good right now. Good luck!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
