Lakeshia 0 Posted July 24, 2011 I am so busy focusing on getting my Protein and fluids in daily that I am having a hard time getting 2-3 meals in a day because the liquids seems to keep me filled for hours. By not getting the solid meals in, I am not getting the daily calories in (1200). 40grams of my Protein comes from my 20oz Isopure Protein Drink which I start every morning with. The rest of my liquid comes from Water. I often have to force myself to eat something because I know I haven't eaten. I'm afraid that if I don't get the liquid in I will become dehydrated and if I dont get the protein in I wont continue to lose weight. I have yet to find anything that will give me 40grams of protein in one drink or meal for that matter. Is there anyone else having a problem getting meals in due to liquids or just not being hungry period??
Cindy C 150 Posted July 24, 2011 Milk has 1 gram of Protein per ounce. Carnation instant Breakfast has 5 grams plus alot of Vitamins. Protein Powder usually has about 16 grams per scoop. So 12 ounces of skim milk, 1 carnation and a scoop of powder is about 33 grams of protein. If you want more than that add a little more protein powder or milk. I use chocolate Carnation and vanilla Creme Muscle Milk Powder. It tastes like a chocolate malt!
54Shirley 105 Posted July 24, 2011 When you drink any Fluid, shakes... all the Water or liquid that you drink goes to your Water intake for the day. So if your doing 3 8oz. shakes a day, that's 24 oz.. yet your thinking I still have to get my 64oz. of water in me. No you don't! You would now need to add 40 oz to that 24 oz. to get 64 0z of water or Fluid for your intake. You might now have some room to eventually eat something. If your drinking 64 oz. fluid, and then doing your daily shakes, that's to much water. Add in Soups too. All liquids add up. I checked that with my surgeon. I put a 1/2 gallon jug in the fridge every night. I use it for all my needs including drinking. When it's empty, I wash it out, and refill it for the next day. This way it's not a guessing game on how much liquid I took in today. Hope it helps. Shirley.
