dropsizes 2 Posted July 24, 2011 Hi all, Tomorrow I get my Lap Band. That means no eating today just clears. My family know that and are great supporters in my life but they must eat. My hubby is making bacon and I WANT SOME...LOL. I turn to my broth instead. Anyone having this problem? Please know that I am not mad at my family I just find it funny how the smell makes me want it. I do know in say 2 months I can try it I hope. Take care all. Mary
Amanda B. 0 Posted July 24, 2011 Mary, I know it's hard, but hang in there. Once you have surgery, you won't be hungry for a while. Just try to clear your head and relax for now. I was pretty hungry right before surgery but the swelling and tenderness of your abdomen totally takes your appetite away. Just follow the advice of your doctor and his staff when it comes to liquids. In a couple of months, you will have bacon again, but be forewarned that it may not taste the same. I have found that some foods I used to love don't love me anymore like pizza and surprisingly, cheese and eggs. You will need to experiment and see how bacon works for you, but you're a long way off from that. Just remember to listen to your body and be kind to yourself. Had to walk away. Had some lemon ice and that sort of helped. I know its really hard for us today but hopefully after tomorrow things will start to get easier........just hoping that for all of us. GOOD LUCK TOMORROW........Y I K E S............Chris

raevensong 0 Posted July 25, 2011 You can do this Mary!!! Sometimes so much focus is on the after surgery journey etc, but don't forget that you've come a long way already to get where you are. Don't let bacon ruin that. Once you're out a few months, this time will be a distant memory. The clear liquid period is awful, I won't lie. I don't care if I ever have broth or Jello again, but I'm glad I did it. It gives me faith in my conviction that I was able to endure that. Just remember - this too shall pass. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow.
