TIME OF THE MONTH & Weight Loss?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Week 5 POST -OP for me and the 1st week I only saw a ONE pound weight loss. It is also "my time of the month".

Has anyone else experienced a small loss when they have their period? Might I catch up next week? My eating has not changed a BIT and I am scheduled for my 1st fill this upcoming Wednesday 7-27!

I was plugging along SO WELL so today has been a tad of a disappointment.:(

Your lucky you had a pound loss! I am usually up 2-3 pounds and takes a week to loose it again.

This is completely normal, don't get down about it. Like honk above, I go up and down at that time (and I also get concerned every month!) You're doing fantastic, don't let it get you down. Besides, one pound is one pound, I'll take it!!!

Totally get it. If anything, I gain weight, and it takes about a week for it to come back off. It's mainly Water weight, and the best thing you can do to get rid of it is keep your diet and drink, drink, drink. My problem is during my period, I get massive cravings and it's almost like the "full receptors" in my stomach turn off. I can eat and eat and eat and never feel satisfied. It's real hard to maintain during that.

You're only 5 weeks post op so your body is still trying to find a "normal" again. You could definitely be more bloated because it's that TOTM but you'll get through this. Make sure you're getting plenty of fluids to keep flushing it out of your body. Some people don't even lose much until their first fill (or later) so you're doing GREAT! I'm going for my second fill this Friday and pretty excited about it!

ALSO - instead of relying on weight, try measurements, I'm 8.5 weeks post op and mine has slowed down a bit recently BUT the inches are still coming off! Yesterday my dad commented on how horribly baggy my pants are! (I refuse to buy smaller clothes because I don't plan on buying clothes monthly, so I'm tightening the belts and having my mom alter the waist to tighten them so they stay up for now).

You're doing GREAT! Keep it up and it will continue!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
