Anyone out there have a 4cc Band? If so, how are you doing with it?

I was banded I. Mexico and have had no complications at all. In fact I've heard just the opposite that the newer generation bands are having issues because they were rushed into production because of the competition getting a green light from the FDA. As soon as J&J received FDA approval Allergan from my understanding rushed on the next generation of bands in a bid to compete with the only other FDA approved band. No ofense taken, I was just curious. After speaking with a few different health professionals I actually wanted to go to Mexico so I could get the 4cc band as opposed to what's being used in the states. I've also heard conspiracies behind the newer bands and why they hold more Fluid (takes longer to achieve "green zone"

Well I am so glad you like your band, because I know I like mine.....

They should have a site for 4cc bands because they are different.

Also a reunion for the original Band would be nice.

Shirley.

I actually think the 4cc bands sound a lot better than newer bands in terms of finding restriction and keeping restriction. It only takes a fill or two, not seven or eight. And every fill I had took me to the sweet spot that was right for me at that particular time.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
