Hey everyone -

I was banded 4/12 and really want to whip myself into shape with this new tool. CROSSFIT seems to be all the rage.. wanted to know if any of you have done it... or did your DR advise against it?

I had my surgery overseas - so aftercare is non existent so I depend on this forum for alot of info..

please let me know thanks! im scared of it slipping..

First of all its really expensive.. I haven't seen the start to finish product.. However, I do know that its really intense.. but it look like it awesome.. you might want to try to start slow then work your way up.. I would be concern about you losing interest hitting it that hard. P90x is also a good work out.. several people i know have done it.. that are banded and or gastric bypass..

There is a thread in the exercise forum about crossfit.... I haven't done but most places offer a trial session to see if it's the kind of thing you like.. Call a few places and see!

No.I haven't tried. I wasn't allowed to do much except walk for the first ten weeks. I think u should build urself up to it. I can understand about wanting results. However people ten to over do it so.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
