taking forever to lose the weight...

Recommended Posts

Just feeling frustrated. I had my surgery in Feb.2011 and still not in the "zone". I have had several fills and still rarely feel restriction. If I could just feel and stay full Maybe things would go a little faster. If just relying on myself to stop eating was enough I would not have had to have the surgery. I feel kinda whiney but it just seems that by now it would really start kicking in, the band I mean....

Well, it sounds like you need another fill. Or you can try more filling foods as in high Fiber foods like bananas or yams. I have also found that working out really brings down the scale faster. I'm not talking daily but just three days a week helps me. Good luck

36 pounds since FEb? Thats great! I know you want it faster but you are doing awesome. I was banded 8/30/10 and I've lost 86 pounds. I am down to a size 42 pant from a 56. I hope to be down 100 pounds by my bandiversary. Hang tough! Your doing great.

Hang in there! I had my 4th fill Monday and I am just now at my green zone, what a difference 1/2 cc makes!

I got a .25 ml fill today. Surgeon asked why I only lost 1.5 pounds over the last month.I did not have a good reason for him..... I exercise 30 minutes every day. My main problem is with the evening snacking. I dont eat any "unhealthy" food at all. But I def have been having problems with satiety in the evening. Well, hopefully todays fill will help in the lonnnng fight loss.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
