bobrocky 8 Posted July 19, 2011 Did any of you have to have the Cardiovascular Stress Test before your surgery? I would rather have tried a treadmill, but this is what my surgeon wants me to do. Sounds pretty painful.
SUEBDOO 0 Posted July 19, 2011 I had one, I was pretty sure they were trying to kill me : ). I had a treadmill cardiac stress test. Hopefully the drug induced one is easier. Once was enough thank yo very much.

bobrocky 8 Posted July 20, 2011 I was really trying to find out about the chemically induced stress test for the heart. Has anyone had it? What is it like? Sounds scary and I have to have one.
Mimilou2004 13 Posted July 20, 2011 I think it is pretty poor nursing that you haven't been given enough information to be more comfortable. I know a few ppl who had it and they didn't say it was awful but their heart rate was certainly noticeably elevated. Best wishes, Mimi
bobrocky 8 Posted July 20, 2011 Well, they just sent me a list in the mail about the pre-op tests I had to take a couple of days after I was approved. I haven't seen anyone in person since then.

Most likely you have to take the list to your pcp and have them schedule the appointments for you. They would be the people to most likely explain to you what the exam entails. I had a stress test that required me to walk the treadmill.
