Melissa3939 0 Posted July 19, 2011 Hi all: I was banded on 7/7 and have had this heaviness in my chest the last few days - very little solids - soft eggs. No fill yet. It is pressure on my chest like something is stuck. Has anyone else had this happen to them so earlier on? Thanks.
carymom 4 Posted July 20, 2011 Hi all: I was banded on 7/7 and have had this heaviness in my chest the last few days - very little solids - soft eggs. No fill yet. It is pressure on my chest like something is stuck. Has anyone else had this happen to them so earlier on? Thanks. The heaviness could be from the anesthesia they gave you and it is having to work its way out. I know it took several weeks to stop feeling it. I have also eaten to quickly and swallowed air or eaten too big a piece at one time. What I do it "put my hands up in the air like I just don't care " but if I am in a restaurant, then I stand up and walk around for a while. Both help. I am on a solid diet now, and ate broccoli for the first time today. Did NOT work for me, and I threw up. I ate small bites, chewed very well, but it still happened. I am saying this to let you know that sometimes when you get that feeling - "heaviness" or "tightness" in your chest, that might happen. A "veteran" bander told me when I start to feel my mouth filling up with Water to get to a bathroom. You may just cough, but you may throw up.
