spoiltmom 44 Posted July 19, 2011 I can't. My Prozac capsule is the biggest thing I can handle and it's not all that big. I have a bladder infection though and I have to go to the doc. What antibiotics do they use when you can't swallow stuff? liquid? I usually take Cipro but I can't see that going down right now:/
reverie 49 Posted July 19, 2011 Never been a problem for me. My MV and Calcium pills were horsepills. Always went down fine; stopped taking them though.
Knaroz 31 Posted July 19, 2011 They make a Z pak type pill that is a powder that you add to Water. It tastes hideous but works great. GENERIC NAME: AZITHROMYCIN powder PACKETS - ORAL (azz-ith-row-MY-sin) BRAND NAME(S): Zithromax
crittlebird 7 Posted July 19, 2011 I bought a pill cutter and smasher. Some of my meds are quite large and I was told to break the x-large ones up into 4 pcs. They say anything bigger than an m&m needs to be cut. Hope this helps.
Knaroz 31 Posted July 19, 2011 Just make sure you read up on your pills and make sure that they are ok to crush or cut. My Blood Pressure (or Choloestrol) pill I crushed it and added it to apple sauce and it left blisters all in my mouth. Was not a good day.
Rachel412 116 Posted July 19, 2011 So far, yeah, I haven't had a problem with pills (my glucosamine is pretty big) but you can get almost any med in a liquid version these days, so make sure to ask at the pharmacy about what options you have.

Extended release meds cannot be crushed or split they must go down whole.
mauraclegg 29 Posted July 19, 2011 I can take any pills w/o a problem, although occasionally Advil liquigels stick and melt (they are gross btw)
54Shirley 105 Posted July 20, 2011 No, to big and they won't go down.
Cindy C 150 Posted July 20, 2011 You shouldn't take any pill that's larger than an aspirin. Cipro and Prozac both come in liquid form.
Kay Adams 0 Posted July 20, 2011 I haven't had a fill yet, but I can get an 800 mg motrin down. I bought the pill crusher but haven't had to use it.
Melissannde 41 Posted July 20, 2011 As long as I have something warm to drink (coffee, tea, etc.) I can get most pills down. Early on, Calcium was a problem and I had to go to chewables.< /p> A pharmacist is your best bet when having issues with forms of medications.
