jay150 5 Posted July 19, 2011 How do you know if you stretched your pouch and what happens if you do? Is this something that can be corrected with a fill? Lately, I seem to be eating much more with hardly any restriction and I am hoping I have not stretched anything. Thanks!
trish151 33 Posted July 19, 2011 Jay, I can't remember where on this site I found it but there is a post that talks about how there is a fat pad around your stomach where the band is and as you lose weight, the fat pad also shrinks. I've also experienced this. When I had my first fill, I was good. Then about a month later, I could eat more. I would recommend you put in fat pad in the search and find the post. It was really good at explaining it. As a matter of fact. I've had good restriction with all of my fills and then as the month goes on and I lose more weight, I get less restriction. I've had this happen for the past 5 fills. I thought something was wrong at first too until I read this. Hope you can find it.
muelle 64 Posted July 19, 2011 Trish is right, I've discussed it with my surgeon. I have had great restriction 3 different times now and have to get tiny fills to compensate for the fat pad shrinking. It usually only takes about .25 cc's and I'm good for a couple months. Eventually it will even out and the fat pad should be gone, so restriction will stay longer. Good luck to you
jay150 5 Posted July 19, 2011 Thank you both --- that puts my mind at ease a bit. I was becoming concerned that I stretched my pouch.
