I need a fill in North Louisiana

Recommended Posts

Both places in Ouachita parish have been out of commission for band fills for almost 3 months now. I was banded in Dallas by Dr. Cribbins in November 2008. Had lost 90 lbs, have now gained 20 back because I can't find anywhere to get a fill. I am willing to travel if necessary. I have called several places outside of Ouachita parish but have not had any luck either they 1. won't return my phone call or 2. only do fills for a certain doctor. Anyone have any advice, suggestions, phone number for a fill Dr.?

Try my surgeon Dr. Norwood's office. It is a center of excellence and located in Shreveport. Here is his website:http://www.norwoodbariatric.com/index.html

They are all about the aftercare and like to follow their patients closely.

Is Monroe La. near you? If so google Fill Center USA, click on location, and type in your zip code.

Usually all these places do are fills. So if you need a Dr. ,,, you will have to find one.

I would call the hospital up, and get a copy of your records, and surgical notes. That way if you look for a new Dr.,,, they will see what they are dealing with. MAKE COPIES! Once you turn them over to someone, there's no getting them back.

Hope it Helps, Shirley.

you should try Dr. Stephanie. She has two locations. The one closest to you would might be Tyler, Texas. SHe is wonderful. Her website is wellspringprocedures.com. Her phone number is 903-520-8847.

Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to get in touch with the Fill Centers location in El Dorado and finally got my much needed fill. The location in El Dorado was wonderful. Everyone was very nice and very professional. Hopefully by the time I need another fill, the locations here in Monroe/West Monroe will be back up and running, but if not I would gladly drive the hour to El Dorado to do business with them again. Again thanks everyone for your help.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
