scrambled eggs

Recommended Posts

why are scrambled eggs so hard to handle with lap band. I have tried several times thinking they are nice and soft and they get stuck.

I think I tended to just chew a few times and swallow because they are so soft. I do not have a problem if I make sure to chew them really well.

I also have problems with eggs and just got done trying to eat them and had the same experience as you...I even drowned them in low cal/low carb ketchup for moisture. And omelets...forget it!!!!

Isn't that strange. I eat eggs all the time, in all forms, and I have absolutely no problem.

eggs are the only thing I have a problem with right now and I love them! I went to visit my parents yesterday and they made sure they had something I could eat for lunch. It was egg salad. I ate it just to make them happy because this was the first time they went out of their way to help me with this. It did not work. Oh well....lots of other ways to get protein!

No problem with scrambled eggs for me - so far I haven't found any foods I can't eat. I guess that just makes me lucky!

I have no problems with eggs, but then again, I haven't had a fill yet. ;) I hope I can still say the same in the future, I can't imagine my Breakfast with no egg!

Try adding cottage cheese to scrambled eggs, it keeps them really moist and adds protein!! They might go down easier.

Scrambled eggs for me are a big problem and have been for several months. I can however eat fried or hard boiled eggs. I do miss my scrambled eggs with cheese :(

But it is a small price to pay on the way to lose weight! :D

They are something I can actually eat, but many other foods that I hear others can eat I can't

If I had to guess it would be the chewing- u may not chew as well since they are soft- or it's just one of those things. Seems that bands can be temperamental and we all have various things we can/can't eat.

I've gone through stages when I couldn't eat eggs. In fact, I just kind of gave up trying for quite a while... until a couple of weeks ago. My husband started on a low carb diet and started making eggs for Breakfast every morning. He uses the Eggbeaters kind (in a carton). I decided to give it another try and it worked! I don't know if it's the kind of eggs, or if I've just learned how to slowly eat them and make it work.

But the surprising part was how that one egg (with cheese) keeps me completely full until noon. In fact, I broke out of a stall and started losing weight very steadily again. So I'd say if you haven't tried it for a while maybe give it another shot. I like the idea of adding cottage cheese to the eggs and might have to try that.

I have problems with scrambled eggs too. I can eat omelets. I think scrambled eggs give the illusion of being able to slide right now. ...at least for me.

I have to really pay attention when I eat them to not get stuck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
