I currently weigh 288 and 5' and have a BMI of 56. I have type II insulin dependent diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, non alcoholic fatty liver disease, asthma, edema of feet legs and ankles, and am in constant pain upon movement. starting Feb. 16, 2011 until June 3,2011 I have been hospitalized 13 times for my asthma and diabetes and other related issues including paralysis with unknown cause. Total days in hospital 63. I am currently on 12 different meds, and hate taking them. I am excited as well as nervous at same time. I have been following 1800 calorie diabetic diet for 4 years and no weight lost but none gained. I have recently had to file for Retirement Disability from my job. My asthma is to the point that one wrong fragrance I am in what the have labeled status asthmaticus. I only leave my house for Dr. appointments and quick grocery trips....... usually my kids run into the store not me. Thus my journey has begun................... 54Shirley 105 Posted July 16, 2011 Well Angie,,, With all that said. It's nice to meet you. I too have numerous Disabilities, and have been on my SSD for a year now. I am usually on this site, also on myfitnesspal.com You might look into that, it keeps track of your calorie intake. I see you are on 1800 calories a day. Your surgeon may or may not lower that on you. It depends on you and the surgeon, I am on 800-1200 a day. If you go to the myfitness.pal you will get a chance to view other peoples diets, and yes some are Diabetic. I am Losingintime on that site, feel free to become a friend or friend me in if you would like. Look forward to hearing from you, Shirley.
