Sometimes we just have to face the heat! I told my mom about me having the surgery yesterday! She was shocked, said I didn't need it but she'll support me. Naturally, she's negative. So I wasn't suprised today when I saw her and she told me she did her research. She said "I read the side effects.......the #1 risk is death!" *I don't mean to scare anyone*. I reacted calmy and told her "yes, I know. As with any surgery, the #1 risk is death!"

My mother who is always negative as heck about everything was actually very positive about it. I was as shocked as anyone. If you're mom had done her research she would have determined that the number one side effect of obesity, diabetes, heart disease etc is death. It's just that a lot more people die from those things as opposed to the lap-band.
