My husband and I are planning our second child, even though I have not made my goal weight. Has any one gone through a pregnancy with you 'optimal' fill level? Honestly, I think Im mostly likely too tight now, but am ok with it. Most days I can only eat a small dinner (No Breakfast, lunch, or snacks). I dont want to gain much during pregnancy (I had ALL Fluid removed with first pregnancy and gained 80 lbs---completely my fault) I would like to remain at my current fill level, but I worry I will need to nurtition for the pregnancy.... I will, of course, speak with my OB about this, but I wanted to see if you all had any input....

You are way to tight if you can only eat one meal a day. You would clearly need to get some Fluid taking out. A baby would not get enough nutrition on what you are eating.

I agree, if you are only eating one meal a day, you are too tight. You are going to need more calories for you and your growing baby.

Regardless of pregnancy you need more food intake. If your not taking in enough you are starving your body and becoming unhealthy

I am not starving my self. I am taking ensure shakes as well. I lose 1-2 lbs a weeks so I am not losing excessively... I am remaining hydrated.....

You need more calories/food than that. My suggestion if you're worried? When you find out you are pregnant, get an unfill and have your OB consult with surgeon. Gaining too much weight (80 pounds) isn't good for you or baby so maybe a slight fill will help you find the middle ground. I would, however, work with a nutritionist to ensure you and baby are getting to eat. Good luck!

I was at my sweet spot for months before I got pregnant but as I started to get morning sickness I was way too tight from the swelling and irritation from the band, I have the large band and need it pretty tight for good restriction 11cc in a 14cc band, I went down to 5ccs and could eat anything ( gained 40lbs fast) as your uterus pushes everything up you may need adjustments throughout your pregnancy, my doctor had no problem with keeping restriction as I was told during pregnancy you only really need an extra 300 calories daily.

Im sure it's possible to keep good restriction throughout the pregnancy but you may require lots of adjustments

Good luck and happy baby making ; )

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
