Question for my fellow bandsters......

Does anyone else have bad band days where it seems nothing will go through without getting stuck? I never had before, but it has happened a few times- it's annoying

ive had a couple of those. I just give up and do liquids for the day if it gets really bad. I dont know why it does it, but its sometimes best to give in. :)

I've had a couple when I've gotten lazy with my chewing.

while these are very few for me, I too just accept the fact and find some Liquid Protein and enjoy the variety. The richness of otherwise inexplicable finicky Band behavior rewards us regardless of occasional frustration.

People ask me why I had this done all the time when they watch me eat because I am always making faces as it may or may not go down. Or I start to eat something, make a face and throw that away and get something else.

I say hey, ive lost 34 lbs, if the silly thing wants to be difficult, let it, ive lost 34 lbs! :) it can do what ever the heck it wants as long as I keep losing:)

Yes, my band is my fickle friend named Bandit, because he steals meals from me. What went down yesterday might not go down today. It's just something I've come to accept.

It's funny that it happens when there has been nothing to create a tighness - I wonder if it's my band telling me to chill out and eat less (lol) Well, either way - had a band band day 2 days ago, was very nice to my band yesterday and hoping to chew today... was going to get a fill next week but wondering if I should or not with my band band days compounding....

It used to happen to me all the time. I got my last fill in June, which was only .2, Dr. didn't even want to give it to me because what he saw under flouroscopy that I was tight enough. I told him I was very hungry in the evening, so he just gave me very little. Which put me at my sweet spot. I have noticed I don't get stuck as much anymore. I may just feel stuck in the a.m., which is probably the norm. But if I drink a cup of hot tea before eating my food will go down a lot better. I am 9 months out and have lost 110 lbs.

9 months and 110 pounds?? that is awesome!! I find my bad days are coming closer together - it's frustrating. But I am going to the dr. on Tuerday and I will see what he says about a fill or no fill

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
