itskellyraye 0 Posted July 13, 2011 Hi Darlene! I haven't been banded yet but I went for my pre-op appt. today and I asked the exact question you did. Now, it mostly depends on your insurance. I have Tricare and I was told that I can go to my Family Doctor to get a referral for the fills and insurance would cover it. And, most likely the Nurse Practitioner will be the one doing them. But, again, it does depend on what insurance provider you have.
jay150 5 Posted July 13, 2011 hi darlene....i was not charged for fills for the first 90 days after surgery...i now pay $30 for a fill. my surgeon did my first fill, but now they are done by the nurse practitioner. hope that helps!
momof3armybrats 1 Posted July 14, 2011 Hi Darlene!! It all depends on your insurance and your doctor's office. I have Tricare and they cover everything. My surgeon does my fills. He said he prefers to do it verses letting the nurse do it. Congrats on your decision. I was banded on April 5th, 2011 and have not looked back since. Best decision I have ever made. Good Luck!!!! hi darlene....i was not charged for fills for the first 90 days after surgery...i now pay $30 for a fill. my surgeon did my first fill, but now they are done by the nurse practitioner. hope that helps! NJGirl32 43 Posted July 15, 2011 All my fills are included as far as I know. I have Horizon BCBS. Your doctor's receptionist should have all the answers to insurance questions.
