stupiedshannon99 0 Posted July 13, 2011 I am new here, this is my 1st post. I am on my way to getting the Lap Band, I have my 4th visit with the nutritionist in 2 weeks. I am having trouble with....Well ALL of it. Does this mean I wont be able to handle my band. I have got Breakfast down, Lunches I have LOTS of trouble, What do I eat? Some advise please. And dinner, do I make myself something different or just eat a small version of what I made for the family? Last night I mad sloppy Joes for dinner. Well Should I have only eaten the meat...or...maybe just 1/2 bun and meat? PLEASE any ideas to help me drink more Water during the day. I am so worried. I am scared to ask the nutritionist because I dont want her to say I am not ready. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
jamesmom 3 Posted July 13, 2011 i just had my third visit.....are you on a low carb diet? my nutritionist has me on a 60 carb a day plan ; i preplan my meals and when it come to dinner I make somekind of main dish like baked chicken or a roast (no potatoes or carrots) and have low carb veggies with that. my nutritionist also said from now on the surgeon would like to see significant weightloss. try to preplan meals...it really helps. Mscarter007 0 Posted July 13, 2011 I agree with Jame's mom. My nut put me on no more than 60g of carbs and at least 60g of Protein. Watch out for starches, fruits, and vegetables because they all contain carbs. At first it sounds funky but I am told it can be reintroduced in moderation well down the post op line. BaileyRose 13 Posted July 13, 2011 I'm on less than 20 carbs a day, and atleast65-75 grams of Protein a day. For dinner I I don't make me something separate. I just make low carb for my husband too and if he wants a piece of bread with it or something that's fine. Or for instance, the other night we had friends over for dinner... I made fajitas and I bought the low carb tortillas( not the ones that taste like cat food but the white ones made by Mission)z each small tortilla is 5 carbs. So I had two. I knew ahead of time that's what we were having so I made sure to have no carbs early on in the day. I suggest a high Protein shake for lunch. That will definitely help with getting your Protein in and help with your lunch temptations. Also, in the morning, I get a route 44 Water with lemon and lime from sonic and sip on that. I fill it up a couple more times a day and then I'm good! You can do it! The first three days of sticking too it were the hardest for me. I felt so deprived. But if you just put your mind to it you can do it! I've lost 10 lbs in 10 days.
