Pre-OP starts in one week - tell me your favorite shake

Recommended Posts

Want to order a few shakes to try out before I start pre-op. I have heard so many differing opinions on the best. Tell me what you like and why? Please....thanks!

I tried just about everything and my favorite is Muscle Milk. I wasn't allowed to mix the Protein Powder with milk so I found that chocolate muscle milk was the best with water!

Personally, I didn't like the muscle milk.. but that's probably because I only tried the premade kind. I also haaated the EAS premade from Walmart. I was on those for a week before I realized there were better options in life, haha. My favorite brand is "Oh Yeah!" and whether the shakes are premade or powder, they're both delicious. My favorite kind is Cookies & Creme, but I also tried the premade Strawberries & Creme, and banana. Those were both good as well. I bought a case of the premade (cookies), 32 bottles for like $39.99 at The Vitamin Shoppe near me, then when I ran out, bought the big tub of powder for around $36.99. If you can try an Oh Yeah shake you totally should.. I wish I knew about them before I did, and actually another bandster recommended them to me. I actually have the tub of powder in front of me right now.. some of the nutrition facts: serving size: "1 rounded scoop" (which is HUGE), servings per container: 21. calories: 210. total fat: 6g. sugars: 2g. carbs: 8g. protein: 32g. Hope that helps! :)

I love the Designer whey chocolate and French vanilla. It only has 2g of carb which is important to me, and can be bought at your local supermarket. I mix a flavored instant coffee into my shake in the morning, Yum!smiley-eatdrink005.gif

I read this post and was still looking for a shake that I would actually enjoy and not just drink it because I have to. So i went out and bought the oh yeah to try- It is REALLY GOOD! I tried the Cookies & cream and strawberry. they are both Delish! I started my 2 week pre op liquids TODAY and i am picking up a case of them 2 day! I am also going to try the banana. I think this is the key to not cheating on the liquid diet- at least for me. I have to enjoy whatevery food/liquid that i am eating. The GNC Total lean RTD strawberry is also good, but is doesnt meed the requirements from my Nut. Good luck.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
