Lee262 0 Posted July 13, 2011 Hi Everyone, I've seen quiet a few people on here who have lost like more than 50lbs 1-2 months post op. Is that normal or very successful? I was so happy my first week because I lost between 1-2lbs a day. In 7 days I was down 12lbs. Then I stopped and have not lost another pound for 5 days actually gained 2lbs back. And I'm still on a liquid diet. A sample of a day would be a sugar free Breakfast carnation for Breakfast, a slim fast for lunch and chick broth or 1 serving of Soup between 70-100 calories. I will snack on a Jello or V8 Splash. I know I am not over eating. I walk close to a mile a day for exercise. I would just like to hear that it's normal so I will stop worrying that I'm doing something wrong. Or find out how to get losing again.
NJGirl32 43 Posted July 13, 2011 Very, VERY normal. This is a time of healing-expect 6 week post surgery to be all about healing from surgery (even if you feel good). Also, be prepared for the chance that you may experience "Bandster Hell" - a stage where you feel hungry because the fills haven't kicked in enough to control the hunger monster. Slow and steady wins the race! Good luck to you!
brbm6 6 Posted July 13, 2011 Completely normal. I would gain/loose the same 2 or 3 lbs for weeks. It is frustrating. I have to log everything I eat and excersise. I use myfitnesspal.com. Also, I learned if I do not drink at least 100 oz. of Water a day my weight stalls. Try weighing only once a week. It will be less frustrating.

Allison0927 329 Posted July 13, 2011 also sounds like you may not be getting enough calories - count them out and stick within your doc's guidelines - not eating enough causes body to hold onto them in starvation mode.
Lee262 0 Posted July 13, 2011 I do understand what you're saying but I'm drinking as much as I can. Believe me I'm not feeling hungry at all. I noticed yesterday and today though the swelling must be going down because I'm able to get more down, so that's a good thing.

Lee262 0 Posted August 2, 2011 I'm still having the same problem. I'm a little over 4 weeks post op and I go between 10-12lbs lost. I have stayed the same for about 2 almost 3 weeks. But I am at peace with it. I can eat just as normal as before so I am just concentrating on continuing to eat healthier. I get my first fill on Aug 11th and I am hoping to see my weight loss start again. hey... Gerrad54 0 Posted August 8, 2011 I was very similar to you all - I lost around 12 pounds the first week.. then lost 6 more the following week. Ultimately you guys are losing the weight on your own.. Once you start getting the fills you will start losing again. Just remember it's not a sprint to the finish line.. it's a marathon. 6-8 pounds a month is healthy weight loss. The first few weeks is a tease! Keep up the good work!
